The total vacancies are divided across various categories with specific reservations for Unreserved, SC, EBC, BC, and other categories as per Bihar government norms.

Eligibility Criteria / पात्रता मापदंड
Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) from a recognized board or its equivalent. Additionally, the following qualifications will be considered equivalent:
• Maulvi Certificate
• Two-year ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT)
• Three-year Polytechnic diploma
Knowledge of shorthand in both Hindi and English, as well as computer typing skills, are mandatory.

Age Limit / आयु सीमा
Age as on 1 August 2025:
• Minimum - 18 years
• Maximum for Unreserved Male - 37 years
• For Backward Classes and Unreserved Females - 40 years
• For Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes - 42 years
Age relaxation as per government rules is applicable.

Application Fee / आवेदन शुल्क
Candidates need to pay an examination fee of ₹100. If Aadhaar number is not provided, an additional biometric fee of ₹200 will be charged.
आवेदकों को परीक्षा शुल्क के रूप में ₹100 जमा करना होगा। यदि आधार नंबर नहीं दिया जाता है तो ₹200 का अतिरिक्त बायोमेट्रिक शुल्क लगेगा।
Selection Process / चयन प्रक्रिया
The selection will be based on two stages:
1. Written Examination: Objective type test comprising 150 questions on General Studies, General Science & Mathematics, and Mental Ability.
2. Practical Test: Shorthand and typing test in both Hindi and English.
Written Exam Details
- 150 objective questions: 50 General Studies, 50 General Science & Mathematics, 50 Mental Ability
- Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
- 4 marks for correct answer, 1 mark deducted for wrong answer
- Qualifying marks vary by category (General - 40%, OBC - 36.5%, EBC - 34%, SC/ST/Women/Disability - 32%)
Practical Test Details
- Shorthand dictation at 80 words/minute for Hindi & English to be written in 4 minutes
- Typing test of 300 words in 10 minutes with minimum speed of 30 words/minute for Hindi (Mangal font, Remington Gail Keyboard) and English (US Keyboard Layout)
- Error limits: Max 10% in shorthand speed and 1.5% in typing
- Special provisions for visually impaired candidates
Salary / वेतन
Selected candidates will receive Level-4 pay scale ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100.
