English:
- Any Graduate / B.E. / B.Tech degree in any discipline or Certificate of Competency (COC) as Master (FG) issued by Government of India or equivalent.
- Master Mariner with Certificate of Competency as Master (FG) OR retired Indian Navy/Coast Guard officer with at least 15 years of service holding the rank of Commander or equivalent.
